2008 Scholarship Program!
The Scholarship Program is open to young men and women between the ages of 17 and 22 years of age who are residents of Arlington Heights. The Money must be utilized towards higher level tuition within one year from July 4, 2008.
Submission of Applications :
Drop off your application ONLY at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Please take the application to the reception Desk on the 2nd floor. Mailed applications will NOT be accepted.

Judging :
Winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges. Their decisions will be final. This year's judging will be held at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum on Monday, June 12th.
Prizes and Winners :
A minimum of $1,000 for first place will be awarded in each of the three major categories. Additional prizes in the amounts of $500 are also available for a total of six prizes. Money will be paid directly to the college, university, or school of the winner's choice. Prizes must claimed within one year of the date of the 2008 Festival. All winners will be notified by mail prior to the award ceremony at the Festival. A student may submit applications in more than one category but will be allowed only one scholarship prize per year.
Awards will be presented prior to the Main Stage performance at 7:15pm on Sunday, July 6th.
VISUAL ARTS
Applicants in the area of Visual Arts will be judged on an exhibition of their actual works, along with the Artist's Statement we are requiring each applicant to write. For judges to best evaluate the quality of the works, we are requiring each applicant to hang a minimum of 6 pieces of art of his/her works on judging day, and then return later in the evening to take the work home. PERFORMING ARTS
A VHS videotape or DVD is required to exhibit your talent; no mini cassettes are acceptable. The performer may also narrate or describe the talent on the video. Please make sure that the videotape focuses on your performance rather than a group's performance. The only restriction is that the video tape may not exceed five (5) minutes. On a separate sheet of paper you must write a brief essay (150 words or less) describing your performance, telling specifically what techniques you are demonstrating. VOLUNTEER SERVICE
The questionnaire on the application must be filled out to help us better understand your donation of time or talents to the community in your efforts as a volunteer. You should also attach a statement, written essay form, in which you describe in further detail your efforts and accomplishments as a volunteer. This statement may not exceed 300 words.
